enable uploads of multiple images at once
I would like to upload multiple images of the same organism at a single time.

Have a private workarea that only selected user roles can view
I'd like to work with content that is not available to the public (different to draft, i.e. content is final but private). I may also want to restrict access by user role.

Have a way to display GBIF maps on LifeDesk taxon pages
LifeDesk users shouldn't have to go to EOL to find these maps.

create a chat environment within LifeDesk
If LD is to be used as a work environment, I think there should be a chat function, so that people who are working in LD at the same time can communicate directly.

Allow all contributors to link taxa to bibliographic references already in list
Allow contributors to link additional taxa to a reference that was added by another user. Currently I (the website administrator) have to do this for many references because they were imported from an Endnote library, and it would be easier if the writers of the specific pages could do it.

Enable images to be sorted on taxon page so user can guide reader to look at certain images first
Enable images to be sorted/organized on taxon page so user can guide reader to look at certain images first. It is nice that an exemplar image can be chosen, but I would also like to show certain images before others. For example, large dorsal and ventral images before close-ups of particular areas.

Make taxonomy updateable from EOL/CoL
Once you have imported a taxonomy from EOL/CoL etc. it is static. It would be good to be able to update it either automatically or by pressing a button to avoid having to duplicate the effort of maintaining a taxonomy.

allow synchronisation of source datasets
2 things:
- track GUID (Globally Unique Identifiers) from the source dataset and store them in LifeDesks/EoL
- allow structured import and export that includes these GUIDS - this will allow import of datasets, edits to be done in LifeDesks, then exports back to the source dataset for synchronisation. The import and export need to be flexible and configurable so that the required fields can be selected for import/export. The export mechanism needs to allow export of only changed records, what has changed, and who has changed it.9 votes -
Allow administrators to select the picture that comes up on the homepage.
Rather than having the latest image come up when users log in to LifeDesk, allow administrators to select the image that comes up in that image box. I believe it would make the individual sites more visually appealing. Sometimes the "latest image" is not an image that is visually appealing or represents the entirety of the site. For example, in our case, a picture of a beautiful sponge out in the ocean would represent of the entirety of our site much better than a picture of a single spicule.

Link references to taxa within the taxon page interface
Right now, to add 5 references to a taxon page, we have to click each of those references and browse the classification to tick the relevant taxon. This process would be faster if we had an "Add reference" button in the taxon page interface.

enable merging of the children of one or more parents under a single parent
- rather than making me drag and drop each one.

enable download of a list of names with specific flag
i.e. give me all the names with the "marine" and "extant" flags or give me all the names that do not have the "fossil" flag, etc.

enable flagging of entire clade
It would be helpful if I could pick a group and have all the children flagged as "fossil" or whatever instead of having to do it one at a time.
